Call for Entries: 1 is enough Exhibition

Editor’s Note: 2010 is starting off as a great year for exhibitions of iPhone photography. Another interesting showing is the 1 is enough Exhibition, presented by iPhography.com, Taky Magazine and the 1k x 1k Gallery.

The selected images will be shown in print and galleries in several countries spanning the globe. The exhibit will also be featured in the French culture magazine Taky. There’s great exposure for the artist and this exhibition certainly has a lot of reach and clout to expand the audience of the photography shot with iPhones.

One of the more intriguing qualifications are the limitations of the submissions. The image must be square with no border or frame. An interesting creative requirement, as many of us tend to shoot wide or tall.

As a photographer, I don’t want to crop my images square — it’s cutting off a bit of my art. Also, in the past, I’ve compsoed images with an app like Hipstamatic specifically with a border in mind to become an important piece of my photo. I’m shooting specifically for this exhibit and enjoying the challenge of shooting different and the environment of seeing seeing things in a square frame.

For more information and links, here’s the press release:

1 hundred iPhographers (iPhone Photographers) have been challenged to produce 1 iPhograph (iPhone Photo) of exactly 1 thousand by 1 thousand pixels (1 Megapixel) to best showcase their eye for creativity. 1 is enough Exhibition is an exercise in inspiration through limitation.

1 is enough Exhibition will be featured online at 1isenough.com from submissions sent to iPhography.com, it will also be featured in Taky magazine in France & in exhibitions at live Gallery/Venues in Australia, Japan & France organised by 1k x 1k

1 is enough is presented by iPhography (International iPhone Photography Movement), Taky (French Culture Magazine) & 1k x 1k (Australian & Japanese Art Gallery)

Each iPhograph will have a link at the bottom right where you are invited to visit the iPhographers websites/galleries & explore & discover their works in more detail.

You can find the application & submission guidelines here.

We encourage you to visit 1isenough.com to explore the growing collection of the world’s iPhographers.

Marty, I’m not sure, but it looks like this exhibition may have stalled, as the website seems to be offline.
