Panoramic iPhone apps Pano and AutoStitch Panorama On Sale

Wrigley Field pano created with AutoStitch

The two top panorama apps for iPhone are on sale now for a limited time.

Pano from Debacle Software has just been updated to version 4.0 and is on sale for $0.99 USD — that’s $2.00 off.

AutoStitch Panorama from Cloudburst Research is on sale now for $1.99, a $1.00 savings.

Both apps approach panorama creation a little differently. Pano composes the panoramas while you shoot, showing a transparency guide in the viewfinder to help you line up your next shot. In addition to using an in-app camera, AutoStitch allows you to import images from your camera roll.

Pano has built-in color correction that AutoStitch lacks. Pano only allows horizontal image stitching up to 16 panels. AutoStitch allows you to stitch over 20 images vertically as well as horizontally — a unique feature among pano apps.

You can create a lot of interesting effects with a pano app, including some really cool bend effects. The ghosting effect in my sample image was intentional, although it can be problematic at times. Although they work a little differently, both apps produce good results. This is a good opportunity to pick one or both up at a discount.
