ClearCam for iPhone is on sale for $0.99 – that’s half off the $1.99 it normally goes for and a huge $7 off what some of us paid for it when it was only available for jailbroken iPhones.

I’ve used and liked ClearCam for a long time. Those of you with jailbroken ihones may remember ClearCam from Cydia. This is the same app, finally available with all the functionality of the old version. In fact, the App Store version of ClearCam works better than it’s jailbroken predecessor. It does everything the old version did but is faster and much more stable. Quick Shot mode rapidly shoots three images in a row and automatically saves the sharpest of the bunch. Enhanced Image mode rapidly shoots several images, marries them up which reduces noise and helps overall image quality. The image is saved to the camera roll with about 200% resolution enhancement.

I’ve used ClearCam on my Jailbroken 2G for a while and have consistently gotten gorgeous photos. It’s still slower than most camera apps, but produces really clear, sharp images and the resolution enhancement (image upsampling) is second to none on the iPhone.

ClearCam in the App Store is iOS4 only. Sales like these often end quickly so if you’re interested, grab it now. Sorry, folks, it’s no longer available on Cydia.
