[Press Release]

After the Mobile Photography Award 2010, Berlin-based EYE’EM continues their work with the launch of a new website: a hub dedicated to the mobile photography movement. The innovative website brings mobile photographers from around the world together to establish mobile photography as a new form of art.

.
The all-new www.eyeem.com allows mobile photographers to upload, share and discuss their work in real-time. The platform aggregates images in streams of mutual inspiration and creative expression. Users can create their own photo streams, follow each other’s creative output and browse photos by topics or cities. EYE’EM is open to all platforms. Mobile apps for multiple devices will be launched soon.

EXHIBIT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS

The heart of the platform is an ongoing photography competition. The movement’s best rated photos will be exhibited in pop-up galleries around the world on a regular basis. The next show is scheduled for September 2010. All photos uploaded as of the launch will automatically qualify for the competition. EYE’EM will be publishing details regarding the upcoming exhibition soon.

ABOUT MOBILE PHOTOGRAPHY.

Mobile photography is about impulsiveness and spontaneous creativity. It’s about the world around you and how you see it. Take a photo, express your creativity and share it with others. The global mobile photography movement has been gaining momentum for years. EYE’EM is convinced that the time has come to push forward a new form of art and is now providing the stage for it.

ABOUT EYE’EM

EYE’EM was founded in Berlin in January 2010. The founders were joined by their passion for mobile photography, creativity innovation and tasty pancakes. The EYE’EM blog (blog.eyeem.com) regularly publishes interviews with talented mobile photographers, insights into the scene and its origins and inspirations, as well as simple collages of beautiful mobile photographs. The first EYE’EM AWARD, launched in march 2010 (award.eyeem.com), received more than 3000 submissions from all over the world. The winning images were exhibited at Schlechtriem Brothers Gallery in Berlin, proving that mobile photography is ready to conquer the art world. The launch of www.eyeem.com on July 27 is the starting point of a mobile revolution in photography.
