"Morning Frost" by Jay Lemieux

.

Have you checked out Facebook’s iPhone Photography Competition (IPC) page. Every month, iPhoneographers submit photos based on a chosen theme. The last month’s theme was “Raw” — completely raw, unapped images. The winner of this competition was iPhoneographer Jay Lemieux with his great photograph “Morning Frost”, shown above.

Here’s Jay in his own words:

“It all started back in college with 35mm b&w, there’s just something special about watching a photography come to life in the darkroom. I then transitioned into digital photography using a Point-and-Shoot camera, which then elevated to using a DSLR. When I got my first iPhone (3GS) I stumbled upon the amazing iPhoneography movement, it is really a great community of iPhoneographers that I’m proud to be a part of. After getting the iPhone 4, things really took after, new apps, better camera, front facing camera, etc and I can’t seem to put it down… I’m taking pictures everyday. However, I do dabble with my DSLR from time to time, but 99% of the time, you’ll see me capturing photographic moments with my iPhone.”

Around since November, 2009, The IPC is a monthly competition and is free to enter. Winners are determined by reader votes. The winner gets to choose the theme of the next competition, and to sweeten the pot, the winner also gets a feature here on Life In LoFi.

The new iPhone Photography Competition (IPC) theme is “Polarized Portraits” — any portrait or self-portrait as long as they have the Polaroid instant border. The new contest ends Sunday, January 16, 2011. If you’re not already following IPC on Facebook, you are invited to join. Click here for the rules of the IPC.
