Instagram’s Worldwide InstaMeet – How Did Yours Go?

#instameetdallas, 03/24/11
Thursday, March 24, 2011 was Instagram’s Worldwide InstaMeet. In over 300 cities worldwide, Instagrammers met, shot, shared favorite filters, and if yours was anything like the Dallas meet you also picked up a few new friends here in the real world.
The Dallas meet was a group effort with Deep Ellum suggested as the venue by @rutherfordphoto. Meeting up at the Green Line station was suggested by the two Megans and was a great idea, as was burgers and sunset on the rooftop of Twisted Root after we lost the light. The Dallas meet was fun as we walked and shot one of Dallas’ more famous (and infamous) neighborhoods. Instagram is a very social app allowing us to make connections with friends and photographers from around the world. The InstaMeets are a great way to connect with people outside of the virtual world of the app.
Hopefully, your meet was as fun. We’re already talking about our next meet.
Did your city have an InstaMeet? How did it go? Let us know. If your meet put together an InstaMeet book or gallery, share links in the comments below.
Here are just a few of the images taken at the Dallas meet last evening.

The London instameet was a success! approx 25 people in an old London pub, the atmosphere and the company was great
the majority met at the Houses of Parliament for a photowalk along the river Thames at sunset and caught some amazing images. Search Instagram for #londonphotowalk #instameetlondon and #longram for more!
The Princeton instameet was neither a success or failure. It was just me and one other person who cancelled at the last moment. I got a latte at the Panera and then walked around taking photos.
As far as I know, the Fort Worth one went well – we had several people. I wound up running into the owner of a new business in our neighborhood that's just opening up in a rehabbed historic building and getting a tour of the space, which led to me having to leave the meetup at the halfway point. Still had fun, though.
