FX Photo Studio 4.0 Streets With Plenty of New Features
This morning, the FX Photo Studio 4.0 update hit the App Store. This update adds plenty of new features to this excellent iPhone photo app, including new filters, masking, and new file sharing options.
We’ve reviewed the previous version of FX Photo Studio here. It’s a great, all-around filter app with enough goodies and usability for every level of iPhoneographer.
The update has a lot of great details. FX Photo Studio 4.0 now includes 194 high quality effects and filters. You can now choose to import images with a square crop for easy Instagram posting. And with Instagram’s new API’s, you can now upload your processed images directly to Instagram from within the app.
Once you link the app to your Facebook account, importing images from your Facebook photo albums (and images you are tagged in) is as easy and seamless as importing from your photo library. This is a very social photo-sharing aware update of this powerhouse app.
FX Photo Studio is still old iPhone friendly and will run on any iPhone or iPod Touch.
Here’s What’s New in Version 4.0.0
★ Masking Studio: apply effects to any part of the image
★ 7 new effects, including 3-D filter
★ Performance improvements – with some filters 2X faster processing
★ Improved editing tools: gamma, saturation, hues, etc
★ Improved in-app camera
★ Possibility to import images from Facebook
★ Instagram sharing
★ Centering for Tilt Shift, Radial Blur effects
★ Printing
★ Square crop option
★ Enhanced user interface
★ Restore in-app purchases from inside the app
FX Photo Studio is $1.99 in the App Store. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.0 or later.

I have the full version but confused do not see how or where the Masking Option
Will you explain
I second that. I can't find the Mask mode either. Tried searching but I can't find any references at Macphun's support either.
The update it's great but:
A. Memory lag
B. Randomic crashes
… when I use the masking option.
Hope the next release fix these 2 problems.
Thank for this blog and greets from Italy
Barbara, Andrea, it would be way more helpful (for you first of all) if you email the same note at support@macphun.com. Have a good day. And thanks again, Marty!
@Alex – sent the note at that address.
It's your mail address
Thanks Andrea, that is the email of the support team and I also have access to it. Did you get the help? You can also contact me directly at atsepko(at)macphun.com (Marty, hope you are fine with this kind of comments from me, just want to make sure everyone is happy, though it is a darn challenging thing:)
I'm really happy with PhotoFX — how does this compare? thanks.
