UPDATE: Camera Genius is now sale now for $0.99 for a very limited time — a savings of $1.00. The app is the original camera replacement app from back in the day. They recently gave it a complete makeover. Recent updates improve the interface and toolset while keeping the easy but powerful user interface the app pioneered. It now also features a studio module that puts it on par with other high-end all-in-one camera apps. | 
Instant110 is the excellent square format photo app from youthhr, the developer of Cameramatic. It creates analog and retro photo effects using the familiar lens, film, processing motifs. A+ Signature – The photo annotator is lets you add text or watermarks to your photos. The app’s unique combination of texts and hand drawing tools makes it easy to enhance and share photos. This app is FREE through February 14. It’s normally $1.99. A watermark app is a good addition to your toolbox and readers say A+ Signature is a good, versatile app. |
Here’s another $2.00 savings. Image editing powerhouse PhotoForge2 is on sale for only $0.99. This discount is for a limited time. PhotoForge2 is easy enough for beginners to start getting creative, yet very powerful. It’s an excellent app for iPhoneographers with any level of experience. misskiwi’s ClassicPAN is the great single-shot panorama camera app. It’s the only panorama app with a Lomo SprocketRocket-like effect (a personal fave of mine!). The new update was just released and the app is on sale now. For a limited time, you can get ClassicPAN for only $0.99 — that’s a dollar off the regular price. |
We just reviewed Paint FX : Photo Effects Editor. It’s not a paint app per se, but more of a photo app that easily lets you paint in effects. The app has layers and masks as well. An update is coming which will add higher resolution support, so this is a great way to get into the update path. Paint FX is on sale for a limited time for only $0.99 — a savings of $1.00. UPDATE: Looks like this was one of the apps that was on sale for hours. It’s off sale and back up to $1.99 now. |
UPDATE: Paint FX may have gone off sale pretty quickly, but Magic Hour has been reduced to $0.99 through the weekend — a savings of $1.00. This square format photo app complements Instagram nicely, but also holds up really well on its own. The app has 40 built-in filters and effects with a built-in Filter Market where you can download many other user-created filters for free. |
