Popsicolor turns your photos into vivid, high contrast “watercolors.” I just reviewed the app here. I like both its great, colorful effects, its ease of use, and the fact that it lets you create new images that can be shared online or enlarged to gallery size.

The new maintenance update was just released. No new features, but it fixes a few bugs and improves speed and output. Details after the jump.>>>

Here’s a cool Popsicolor tip. You can change the size and number of the drips in Popsicolor by changing the angle that you are holding your iPhone.

Here’s what’s new in Popsicolor 1.0.1

SPEED: About 2x faster! You can see Tinrocket’s speed test data here.  Once I fired up the new update, images opened and processed noticeably faster, even on an iPhone 4S.

The update fixed a crash with large images.

Improved edge quality (less ‘jaggies’). I didn’t really have a problem with the edge quality in version 1.0.0. I thought the slightly roughened edges added to the texture of the image. In my tests, the new algorithm doesn’t change edge quality drastically and still gives the effects an organic feel.

Removed accidental flag for German localization

I think Popsicolor is a great photo app that produces delicious results. This is a solid update.
