Athentech Perfectly Clear for iPhonePerfectly Clear has long been my goto photo app for fast, easy Dynamic Range Correction (DRC). The iOS version is on sale right now for only $0.99 — a savings of $2.00. This sale is for a limited time, so grab it now.

Even with the improved cameras in the iPhone 4 and 4S, there are still some images that may need a little help and would benefit with a run through Perfectly Clear. With one or two clicks, it improves the sharpness, exposure, saturation and contrast. It’s optional noise reduction feature is one of the best available for iPhone and I think is a worthwhile in-app purchase. There are no other apps that prep photos as well as Perfectly Clear.

You can read my review of the latest version here. I still recommend Perfectly Clear for owners of newer iPhones. It’s an essential app for iPhoneographers who use an iPhone 3G, 2G, iPod Touch, or iPad. It will do wonders for shots taken with those lower-fidelity cameras.

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.Requires iOS 4.2 or later.

You talked me into it. 😉

I already have this app, I've had it for a long time and I have to say it is one of my "must have" apps. I own an iphone4s, but even with the newer lens in the camera, using Perfectly Clear improves the photo immensely. I use it on almost all of my photos. It takes a so-so photo and makes it look like a dirty film or layer has been removed. Colors are more realistic, vibrant, and true-to-life after using the app. And if it's on sale you really should grab it, you won't regret it!

    Is it better than AutoAdjust?

    • lifeinlofiblog

It's different. They both "do the same thing" but they do them differently and end up with different results. I think Auto-Adjust is very good. I think Perfectly Clear is better. It gets images into a more natural-looking state. ACDSee is a good one, too. If you don't have it, that's often discounted to free.
