645 PRO updated. Now optimized for iPhone 5.
645 PRO is an outstanding photo app and is currently the most advanced camera replacement app available for iPhone. The recent 2.0 update really improved the speed and stability of the app. In my recent review of the app, I gave it 4.5/5 stars. It’s a very powerful camera replacement.
The new 2.1 update has just been released. among the new features are two new “backs” and full support for the new, larger iPhone 5 and iPod touch 4″ screens. Keep reading for more info. >>>
With the aspect ratio flaw in the iPhone 5’s Camera app, a third-party camera app is essential for precise in-camera framing. 645 PRO now fills the larger screen of the iPhone 5 but accurately maintains the device’s 4:3 aspect ratio in the viewfinder. All the onscreen tools of 645 PRO benefit nicely from the extra breathing room the larger screen gives. It definitely makes the UI feel less cluttered.
The update features two new “backs.” 6×12 is a widescreen aspect ratio (actually, 2:1) that saves at 3264×1632 pixels. The new 6×7+ is a slightly larger implementation of the classic 6×7 back and saves at 3060×2448 pixels.
This update also features graduated filters auto-rotate and enhanced e-mail sharing.
As more and more apps are optimized for the larger screen of the iPhone 5, I’m curious to see how other camera apps will fill the extra screen real estate. 645 PRO’s fully-loaded screen is a natural fit for the iPhone 5’s larger screen area.
If you have an iPhone 4S, 4, or older, don’t fret! This update works great on your older device with all of the new features except the UI is in the older screen configuration.
645 PRO is $2.99 in the App Store. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (5th generation), iPad (3rd generation) and iPad Wi-Fi + 4G. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
