pureshot for iphone

pureshot for iPhone and iPadI’m really excited about this giveaway! PureShot is the brand new camera replacement app from the developer of 645 PRO. PureShot is a top-quality filter-free (or #nofilter) app. It helps you capture digital photographs with the highest possible technical integrity. PureShot lets you shoot quality raw images without adding anything to get in your way. I’ve had a chance to shoot with the app and I really like it a lot.

The app was quietly released yesterday. I’ve got a few copies to give away this weekend. Keep reading to find out how you can win one. >>>

When I’m not shooting with Hipstamatic or Hueless, my style of iPhoneography is to shoot a raw image and import it into the appropriate app later to filter and app it. I’ll have a full review of PureShot sometime this week, but one of the things that I really like about the app is that it has a great set of tools for capturing the best possible raw image. There are some powerful options hidden away in this app’s settings and you can easily use them (or not) depending on your preference. For instance, you can set the shutter preference to trigger on press or press+release. Not only does it have a Night Mode which allows long exposures up to 1 second, it also takes advantage of the Low Light mode of the iPhone 5. The tools in the viewfinder are straightforward and out of the way. Unlike its older sibling 645 PRO, the controls only perform one task each. The display indicators are on the edge of the viewfinder and out of the way. With a click, they toggle off and on. It’s got a quick recovery time. It’s a great, well-designed app that helps you shoot fast. The feature set is similar in many ways to 645 PRO but PureShot is leaner, less intimidating, and easier to use.

The biggest difference between 645 Pro and Pureshot is that the latter works on my iPad2 and iPodTouch4. 645 Pro does not. So it’s great to have most of its
capability available in Pureshot. I also like being able to shoot square images directly. The native iOS Camera app’s photos require cropping in another app to get 1×1 proportions.
