Life In LoFi’s 10 Great Instagram Tips

Have you seen Tangled FX yet? It’s a great, easy to use app that creates unique and very cool-looking effects. Imagine a cross between old-style woodcuts and organic, alien tendrils (I may have been watching too much sci-fi recently). The app lets you create some imaginative, colorful and wonderful results.

Combo Apps’ Tina Rice recently had a look at Tangled FX on Life In LoFi. I concur with Tina. The animations as the app reassembles an image is pretty fun to watch. And after using the app here, it’s pretty amazing what it can do. You can check out what others are using the app for on the Tangled FX Flickr Group.

Currently, the app has 16 built-in preset effects. The app is both one-click easy, but there is a hideaway menu for you to adjust several parameters to customize the effect. The app also supports HUGE file sizes — up to 16 MP images.

The new update will introduce a few great new features such as the ability to save and share custom presets as well as in-app access to the Tangled FX community.

Tangled FX is $1.99 in the App Store. It’s a Universal app designed for both iPhone and iPad. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad (4th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
