Koloid for iPhone photo, collodian process for iPhone and iPad

We’ve got an interesting iPhone photo app giveaway for you today. Koloid for iPhone is based on the old collodion photographic process introduced in the late 1850?s. It creates some quaint, vintage black & white images with a unique antiqued texture.

I’ve got some copies of Koloid to give away today. Keep reading to find out how you can win one. >>>

koloid-icnKoloid is easy to use. Shoot an image with the app’s vintage looking camera or import an image from your camera roll. Tilt your device to spread the “chemical liquid” and your photos slowly develop into a vintage-looking black & white image with developer streaks and other anomalies.

I’ll have a full review of Koloid posted this week. To sum it up, it’s a good, interesting photo app but not without its quirks. If you like unique black & white photography, Koloid is definitely worth a look. Its unique process is fun and might even inspire you to learn a little about its photographic history. Its effects are unique and you might find it worth working around the app’s quirks. In my review which will publish soon, it got a respectable 3 1/2 stars.

The app has good sharing options built in. Images save at up to 7.7 MP for imported images — 2448 x 3150, and 5.1 megapixels for images shot with its own camera — 1989 x 2561. One of the app’s quirks.

If you’d like to try the app now, Koloid is only $0.99 in the App Store. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
