Over on Facebook is the iPhone Photography Competition page, started back in November of 2009. One of the long-standing contributors to the IPC is Fernando Gomez Larrea. Lately, he’s been tearing it up in the IPC, having won both the April and May 2011 competitions.
Here is a showcase of some of his excellent works, including his two winning photographs.

Hipstamatic has a running feature on their Facebook page called “Adventures in Hipstaland”. One photographer picks 9 Hipstamatic shots to represent a particular place. Many of the “interesting” places I’ve been or will be visiting soon (Brussels, Hong Kong, London, Washington DC) have already been done, but when planning a trip to Belgium that would include a day in Bruges, I contacted the Hipstamatic team to see if they would be interested in seeing some of my pictures, and they responded positively. Picking 9 Hipstamatic shots out of the 36 or so that I took that day was difficult to say the least, so I’m glad to be able to show more of them here.
When I’m not writing for Life In LoFi or graphic designing at my day job, I also run the iPhone Photography Competition (IPC) page on Facebook. Every month, iPhoneographers submit photos based on a chosen theme. The theme for March was “Magic Hour†– sunset photos shot and apped using only an iPhone or iPod Touch. iPhoneographer Lindsey Thompson was the first runner-up with her excellent and ethereal photo, “Shadows Walking,” shown above.

I also run iPhone Photography Competition (IPC) page on Facebook. Every month, iPhoneographers submit photos based on a chosen theme. The last month’s theme was “Connectionsâ€. The winner of this competition was iPhoneographer Laura Peischl once again, this time with her stunning photograph, shown above.
You may already be familiar with Laura’s work. Several of her images have been featured in LoFi’s weekly Faved on Flickr feature. She also won last month’s iPhone Photography Competition.
Laura’s work was also featured in the “Strada Stretta” Exhibition in which opened last weekend in Malta and runs through May 15.
Thursday, March 24, 2011 was Instagram’s Worldwide InstaMeet. In over 300 cities worldwide, Instagrammers met, shot, shared favorite filters, and if yours was anything like the Dallas meet you also picked up a few new friends here in the real world.
Have you checked out Facebook’s iPhone Photography Competition (IPC) page? Every month, iPhoneographers submit photos based on a chosen theme. The last month’s theme was “Magic Hour†– sunset photos shot and apped using only an iPhone or iPod Touch. The winner of this competition was iPhoneographer Laura Peischl with her stunning photograph “Ostia, Italyâ€, shown above.
iPhoneographer Daniel Berman is best known as Reservoir Dan and for his dreamlike landscape photography, especially the countryside around his home near Toronto, Canada. Recently, Dan has been creating and sharing some very interesting abstracts, including one of my favorites I recently shared here on the blog, “You Can Break My Eyes but Not My Heart”. Daniel Berman’s Appstractions series is a complete 180 from his other recent work.
Here, Dan shares with us a few pieces of his abstracts. He talks candidly about the origins of the project and shares his toolbox for creating them.
In the submissions for this week’s “Faved On Flickr,†there were several images from by iPhoneographer AlyZen Moonshadow. The images were from the third of her series, “Graffitiâ€. Several of the Graffiti Series 3 images were posted to the Life In LoFi Flickr group and as a series, I think you’re really going to enjoy them highlighted and displayed on their own.
Highlighted in this gallery are several of Aly’s great work from her Grafitti Series 3, as well as some insight into the project from the iPhoneographer herself. There’s a link to the complete series at the end of the text.
Faved on Flickr — The Super Bowl Edition. While everyone else here in Dallas/Fort Worth has been braving The Frozen Tundra that the Packers have brought with, I’ve been scouring Flickr for this week’s excellent collection.
Here is a small number of the outstanding images that were posted to the Life In LoFi group on Flickr over the past week or so. Even if you don’t upload, please be sure to look over our Flickr group. There are many many many great images that don’t get posted here.
Today, I’m pleased to present another strong collection of images. Again, it was very difficult narrowing down the choices for this week’s post. Again, this will be one of two Faved posts. I’ve got another special Faved I’ll be posting this week.
