Not able to attend last night’s Hipstamatic Chunky Lens World Release & Gallery Show in New York City? No problem! iPhoneographer and travel blogger jeannie was there with her iPhone and her Chunky Lens and got some great shots and commentary of last night’s event.
Hipstamatic 200 is now live in the App Store. It includes The Mac & Milk Fashion FreePak, which is available for free for a very limited time. The new FreePak contains the Chunky Lens and the blingy Fashionista Camera Case. It’s available February 10-17, 2011.
Wow, wow, wow! Although we recently posted about Hipstamatic’s new Chunky GoodPak in the upcoming Hipstamatic 200, we didn’t have all the good stuff from this upcoming update until now. It looks like HipstaMatic 200 is getting some great new features, the Chunky lens will be FREE and there’s an additional HipstaPak available with this update.
A while back, we posted a link for making your iPhone 4 look like a Leica M8 camera. In case you missed it, Tragically Hipstamatic blog recently posted a similar method for skinning your iPhone 4 to look like a “Hipstamatic 185″ case.
The latest issue of Wassau City Pages, an alternative weekly newspaper in Wassau, Wisconsin has published a story about Hipstamatic’s creators Ryan Dorshorst. Deputy Editor Rick LaFrombois dug pretty deep into the Hipstamatic backstory. What he found indicates that the Hipstamatic backstory may be “a myth.”
Like many of you, I buy the Hipstamatic HipstaPaks and GoodPaks as soon as they’re available. But what about the limited availability of the new GoodPaks? What happens to them once they are no longer available in the HipstaMart?

In addition to the new film and lens of the Dali Museum GoodPak, Hipstamatic 180 is the first update to lose a film effect. The “Kodot Verichrome” film is no longer available in this update. Actually, it’s not gone. In its place, you’ll find a new film “Kodot XGrizzled”
Moritz FÃ¼rst posted a tutorial in the Hipstamatic Flickr Group on how to apply some of Hipstamatic’s effects using Photoshop. It’s a technique that’s not for the faint of heart.
I like Hipstamatic. There are times when I like the analog experience. I like the noise, light leaks, tonal qualities and textures that it can add to a photo WHEN USED PROPERLY.
If you’re relatively new to iPhoneography or just new to Hipstamatic, here’s a walk-thru of Hipstamatic 160′s settings. Making a few changes here will help to make shooting with Hipstamatic even better.
