CameraBag, Infinicam, and CameraBag for iPad are FREE today only. Nice!

CameraBagCameraBag is the classic iPhoneography app. One of the very first filter apps to appear in the App Store way back when (remember iPhone OS 2?), it was a staple in many an early iPhoneographer’s photo app camera bag.

To celebrate the launch of CameraBag 2 for Mac and PC, Nevercenter’s three iPhone photo apps CameraBag, Infinicam, and CameraBag for iPad are FREE for today only — a combined savings of almost $7.00. App Store links are after the jump. Grab these quickly! >>>

It’s Follow Friday – Follow Life In LoFi on Facebook, Twitter and Google+

In the spirit of #FF Follow Friday on Twitter, I’d like to invite you to also follow Life In LoFi on our other social media channels. Here’s where and why….

Facebook

Like Life In LoFi’s Facebook page. On Fcebook is where we post a lot more app sales, freebies and giveaways than you’ll find on the blog itself. These are often discounts that happen pretty fast. If you’re concerned about Wall clutter, we don’t post nearly as often as Mashable does….

Twitter

Follow @LifeInLoFiBlog on Twitter. Find out as soon as new blog posts hit. Have conversations with me and other iPhoneographers 140 characters at a time. I also share cool links there that I find around the web.

Google+

Follow us on Google+ for notifications when new blog posts go live. Interact with other iPhoneographers who respond and share on Google+. Like Facebook, we also post news of app sales and discounts that don’t always appear on the blog.

Life In LoFi on Flipboard

Flipboard

Life In LoFi is featured content on Flipboard. If you aren’t familiar with the app, Flipboard collects all the things you like to read on the web and and creates a personalized magazine experience for iPhone, iPad and other devices. It’s a free download.

To add Life In LoFi to your Flipboard, from the homescreen click the search button at the top. Scroll down to Photos & Design and select the “+” to add the “iPhoneography (The art of the iPhone)” section. Life In LoFi also shares this tab with Instagram and tap tap tap’s blogs.

Flickr

Life In LoFi is on Flickr as well. Each week, over a thousand images are submitted to the group. Share yours and they may be selected for our weekly Faved On Flickr showcase.

However you get your LoFi fix, I thank you for reading Life In LoFi.

HDR Fusion is FREE today only, 03.09.12

HDR Fusion is a straightforward two-exposure HDR app that’s fast and easy to use, but also has a lot of extra features that stay out of the way until you need them. It lets you create real HDR photographs by merging two differently exposed pictures taken in rapid succession (bracketing) and aligns them in-app. This way, highlights and shadows can be captured and thus fully detailed. Updating to iOS 5.1? Here are a couple of things to know

The iOS 5.1 update is now live for iPhone and iPad. Usually when Apple updates the iOS, it’s fairly chaotic with bogged servers and apps not working. Many users often wait a few days to let the early adopters hash things out.

iOS 5.1 has been in beta, though, for such a long time, it looks like Apple have worked out nearly all of the bugs in this iOS release. I updated this evening and this has been one of the more trouble-free iOS updates for me on both an iPhone 4 and 4S.

Click past the jump for a few thoughts on the update. >>>

Call For Entries: EyeEm and The MPAs present Orange

EyeEm have announced a call for submissions in conjunction with The Mobile Photo Awards! The MPA is a platform that’s committed to presenting the global phenomenon of mobile photography and art in galleries and exhibitions. It’s the world’s largest open gallery call and competition of its kind: and there’s one spot open for an image at the upcoming exhibition at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art.

Be it the color, the fruit, the juice, the Netherlands, traffic lights, road signs, a popular drink or its deeply psychological meaning: get inspired by Orange and submit your pictures. Let your creativity run wild and show us the most diverse and unexpected perspectives that Orange may imply!

Deadline: your images must be added to the album by March 15, 2012, Midnight CET.

Prize: The jury, consisting of Dan Berman (founder of the MPA) and EyeEm, will select one image out of all submissions. This image is going to be printed and exhibited at the Mobile Photography Awards exhibition at the OCCCA from April 7 to April 28 2012.

Visit EyeEm for submission guidelines and more information.

Kickstarter: The Gymbl Latch & Lanyard

I’ve been using a Youbiq Gymbl with Case and Tripod for some time. The case feels solid and has protected my iPhone 4 (and later my 4S) from many bumps and drops. It’s got an ergonomically designed curve on the outside of the case that I really like which makes a noticeable difference in feel when you’re holding your iPhone.

Youbiq is creating a new accessory to go with the device, the Gymbl Latch & Lanyard. They have created a Kickstarter project to help fund the device. From the Kickstarter video, it’s a simple, handy, and versatile clip that helps extend the usability of the Gymbl case. Click past the jump to read more. >>>

iPhoneography: Faved On Flickr, 03.04.12

Image pic #58

Image pic #58 by Souichi Furusho

Here is the Faved On Flickr iPhone photography showcase for the week of March 4, 2012. This week, there are some stunning portraits, outstanding industrial and architectural photographs and great abstracts and dreamscapes in the mix.

With iPhoneographers often submitting works that are great photographs, or art that has been apped and morphed into something completely new, a photograph that combines elements of both, it’s often a difficult endeavor to narrow it all down to the two dozen or so that you see here weekly.

Once again, here are a small selection of the week’s great iPhoneography submitted this week. Click past the jump for the rest of this week’s showcase. >>>

Lomora 3 update is out now. Lomora 2 users will be hacked off.

iPhone lomography app Lomora has a new update. Lomora 3 was just released and is a major overhaul of the app. New users may like the combinations of Lomora’s filter set and the many of the new options. Previous users may like them, too, but will have to shell out three bucks to find out. This is a paid upgrade.

It’s an ambitious update. Many of the new features are well done and great. Many others seem thrown together and poorly coded. And I’m puzzled by some of the app’s changes.

Read past the jump for more details. >;>;>;
