If you’ve had your eye on iPhone photo app BeFunky Photo Editor Pro but thought that the two dollar pricetag was a little steep for what you got, the app is on sale now for 50% off – that’s only $0.99.

I’ve previously reviewed the app here. I recommend that you read my review before purchasing – know what you’re getting. I gave it a median three stars in my review – not bad, not excellent, but good. BeFunky Pro has some good filters that are pretty cool, like the great pinhole filter. It’s a good, one-click processing app.

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G. Requires iOS 4.0 or later. Check the compatibility of your device. The app isn’t compatible with many devices, including the iPhone 3G and 3GS.

Bottom Line: Not a bad photo filter app, but doesn’t support full resolution and the looks of some of the filters don’t match the devices they are supposed to recreate.

Last year in March, I reviewed an app called BeFunky FX, by BeFunky the website of the same name. It created good-looking effects, but was hampered by very low resolution output and the need to be connected to the Internet to upload images to BeFunky’s servers for processing.

The original app is no longer available. BeFunky have released in its place BeFunky Photo Editor Pro. It’s a much better app and it’s where the original app should’ve started. It’s a good, one-click processing app, but this version still has a few issues which keep it from being an excellent iPhone photo app.

Bottom line: Great looking effects, but low resolution output and other problems spoil the app.

BeFunky FX is a new app from BeFunky that applies really nice edgy effects to your images. BeFunky has several other iPhone apps which apply a variety of effects to your images. They’re also the creators of the Befunky.com website which features an arsenal of effects you can apply to your images using a Flash-based browser interface on your desktop or laptop.
