HDR Fusion is FREE Right Now for a Limited Time

HDR Fusion by Cogitap is a genuine HDR photo app similar to Pro HDR and True HDR. It shoots and merges bracketed exposures and has been very good reviews in the App Store. It’s FREE right now for the next day or so. This is for the full version of the app, and not the free, feature-limited version!

HDR Fusion is Cogitap’s foray into the third-party HDR market. It’s a full-blown HDR app which takes the two bracketed images and then merges and aligns them in-app. I haven’t reviewed the app, but the results are different than any other HDR app available. Color processing seems to be a little more vibrant than TrueHDR’s natural mode, but not at vibrant as ProHDR. Saves at full device resolution. It’s been averaging 4-star reader reviews in the App Store. Based on my initial tests, it’s fast, easy and solid and produces good HDR color.

At its normal price of $0.99, it’s inexpensive enough to warrant a look if you shoot HDR. It’s an excellent download for free and this is a great opportunity to try the full version of the app.

You also might want to check out Cogitap’s other HDR photo app, the excellent Bracket Mode ( Bracket Mode - Cogitap Software ). All it does is quickly grab two bracketed images and saves them to your camera roll, letting you get back to shooting quicker.

HDR Fusion works on any iPhone or iPod Touch 4th Gen that’s running iOS 4.2 or newer.

Camera360 for iPhone is Free Right Now in the App Store

Camera360 Ultimate is the most popular app for mobile phone photography on the Droid platform. An iPhone version has been available for a while. It’s not a pano app, as the name might suggest. It’s a camera app with a lot of features, including over a dozen retro style filters.

The app is normally $0.99. It’s FREE right now in the App Store for a limited time. This is for the full version of Camera360 Ultimate, not a feature-limited lite version. There’s no mention of this freebie in the App Description, so I’m thinking it won’t last long. This is a good chance to try the app and see how one of the premier photo apps for Android works.

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.

Halftone is FREE for Labor Day Weekend!

Halftone on iPad. Image courtesy of Juicy Bits.

Halftone is the app from Juicy Bits that recreates the printed, aged, halftone feel of old comic books. I’ve tried a lot of the halftone-style apps in the App Store, but Halftone is the best app I’ve found so far for recreating pulpy, comic book-style images — regardless of resolution. I’ve reviewed Halftone several times; you can start with this review here.

Halftone supports full iPhone 4 resolution – one of the few halftone-style apps that do. It’s now a universal app and works great on any iDevice you run it on.

For Labor Day weekend, Halftone is FREE in the App Store. Go… grab now! This freebie will only last for another day or so. It’s well worth the normal price of 99¢. For free, it’s a must-have.
