Picfx has over 100 effects, textures and frames, all nicely organized into several categories which makes it fairly easy to locate your favorites. This version is a good update. Picfx has a large number of usable effects.

When we first reviewed Picfx, it was a quirky little square format photo app with a fairly straightforward number of filter effects. It’s grown into a pretty versatile square format photo effects app with a large number of filter presets, adjustments and other new tools.

Picfx Behind Coordinated Instagram Spam

ActiveDevelopment, the creators of new photo app Picfx, are behind a coordinated effort to get users to spam the popular social network Instagram. Although technically this does not violate Instagram’s Terms of Service, hijacking another company’s app to promote your own is ethically questionable.

Picfx is another new photo app that creates effects by overlaying textures on your images, much in the way that 100 Cameras In 1 does. I think a good texture should enhance the image, not be the image.
