Bottom Line: Fun interface, but as a camera, it’s low res, the UI is slow to move through and the app has too many problems in this release.

Pop Camera is a collection of unique and funky camera types wrapped in an animated interface that gives the sense of an analog feel and the originality of the “toy camera.” It features wide range of SuperSampler-like shot types, including 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 12, 16 successive shots as well as a double exposure shot. Version 1.0 also includes 14 film effects.

Pop Camera is fun to play with. The UI animations are very well done. Many of the retro film effects look good, but this photo app is still unfinished and has problems. Among them, its low resolution output offsets all the spiffy features of the app.

Bottom line: Great filters help make this camera more fun than you’re expecting

Andigraf by Subkernel is a new camera in the Quad-cam, Supersampler style. It’s an app that takes serial photography, using one of four multi-lens configurations from 4 to 9 lenses. It also features several “film styles” to apply filter effects to your images. Currently, there are four film styles — GrafPhoto Color, LoMode Turquoise, GrafProfessional Black&White, and 1945S Classic Sepia with more films promised in future updates.

Serial photography is a lot more fun than you would initially think and I really like this app!

ClassicSAMP has just been updated to version 3.0. Want a free copy? We’ve got some promo codes to give away.

The new update just hit the App Store and has 2 new vintage film styles and now supports resolutions up to 2225×1500 pixels. It’s another sibling of a misskiwi app that we like a lot, ClassicTOY. Both are camera apps with very nice analog and vintage filters.

ClassicSAMP mimics shooting with the classic Supersampler camera — a 4 lens toy camera which uses standard 35mm film. ClassicSAMP is similar to the popular Andigraf camera app, but with many more film options. With this update, you’ll need iPhone OS 3.1.3 or newer to run the app.
