Call for iPhoneography entries: The Life In LoFi TV spot

.

Life In LoFi is looking for iPhone photo submissions for a series of :30 television commercials advertising the blog. The series will run for the next three months during a new movie review program, The Popcorn List with Rainy and Devin. The program is cablecast throughout Texas and reaches over 1 million households in eight markets throughout Texas. Full episodes, including the commercial embeds, can also be seen online at PopcornList.com . Full episodes are also available as podcasts here.

More info and how to submit images are after the jump. >>>

Our new spots will have images displayed with a sort of Ken Burns effect with title cards interspersed. No voiceover, cool music bed. I think it’ll be a cool and powerful spot.

Images submitted should be landscape or wide. Square frame images are also acceptable, which means we’ll find a way to make Hipstamatic images look good in the spot. Portrait/tall images will not be considered. File size needs to be 720x540px or larger.

To submit for review, simply email your entries to us. Please limit entries to five (5) per iPhoneographer. The link is below, right underneath the terms of submission. Include your name as you want it credited, the image title, and any copyright information that we may need. Please include your country as well. I think it’ll be cool to illustrate a global vision.

I try to answer all emails, but I’m afraid I won’t be able to confirm receipt of your entries. I’ll email you if your image is selected, but before it’s used, just in case any issues arise.

This will be a cool project and a unique way to expose your work to an entirely new audience. I look forward to seeing what you’ve got. Thank you for your entries and we’ll see you on TV!

Before you submit, please be aware of the following terms. We’re unable to pay for use of the image. You will get an image credit on the ad, as well as a QuickTime file of the spot in which your image appears. For the purpose of this commercial, we may use your image for up to three months. Unless also submitted for other purposes to Life In LoFi, we won’t use your image for any other use. By submitting your photo, you give Life In LoFi permission to use your image for this commercial, but you retain all rights to your image. You release Life In LoFi from any damages which may result from the use of your specific image. By submitting your image for use, you agree that you are the full copyright owner of the photograph. By submitting an image for review, you agree to these terms and any amendments. Any amendments will be posted here in an update to this post. We’ll email entrants if there are any major changes to these terms.

Sorry about that, but the legalese is necessary.

To submit your images for review, email your entries to tvspot@lifeinlofi.com . Please limit entries to five (5) per photographer. Entries will be accepted through Tuesday, September 7, 2010.

About The Popcorn List

Originally conceived as “a ‘bucket list’ for movies,” “The Popcorn List” takes the familiar format of dual critics talking about the current releases of the day and puts a unique spin on it, adding classic films and independent productions to the mix.
