Rumor: Diptic app to get high-res support soon?

.

Diptic is a popular photo app that lets you quickly and easily combine multiple photos to create a new image. Its stability and ease of use makes it a good choice to create an photo which tells a story with more than one image.

A couple of cryptic tweets posted recently lead me to believe that a high-resolution version of Diptic is coming soon.

Posted on Twitter by Diptic earlier today, “If you want hi-res update in the next two weeks RT with “YES PLZ DIPTIC, KTHXBYE”.

Posted a few hours earlier was this tweet, “Photos from the iPhone4 camera turn out super fresh & crisp! http://bit.ly/geRjDb #diptic”. The link which points to a very large quadtych, probably created with a beta version of Diptic. The image resolution is a full 2592×2592 pixels and the image quality looks great.

Currently, Diptic only supports up to 1024×1024 px resolution. If this update is released, it will be a huge improvement and raises the standard for this class of photo app. No word yet on any other new features.

Diptic is a universal app that currently works on any iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad running iOS 3.0 or newer. It’s $1.99 in the App Store.
