One of the areas where the iPhone camera excels is street photography. The camera (the iPhone) is small, ubiquitous and doesn’t effect the subject the way a traditional DSLR or point-and-shoot can. It doesn’t look like a camera and can get into scenes that other cameras can’t.

There are many great street iPhoneographers shooting today creating classic works regardless of the camera used. This includes Sion Fullana, Anton Kawasaki, Greg Schmigel, Robson Santos, Dixon Hamby, Aik Beng Chia, Clay “Butch the iPhoneographer” Benskin, Hideous Manki and many, many others.

Thanks to the French website Nikon Passion, here are three eBooks about street photography that you can download for free. Two of the books are by Thomas Leuthard, a Swiss photographer. The third is by Alex Coghe , a photographer based in Mexico City. All three are in English and in PDF format.

“Whether you’re a fan of Street Photography – Photo of street or photo on the spot – or just curious to learn more about the practice of photography, here are three ebooks for free download. These documents are written in English, but they are highly instructive if you want to learn more about the practice of taking photos on the spot, in the street, in town or traveling.”

Here’s link to “3 free ebooks on street photography or photo on the spot” on Nikon Passion. Links to all three ebooks are in the post.

I’ve just grabbed these myself and haven’t had a chance to read them yet. Let us know what you think about them in the comments on this post.
