The powerful and popular new all-in-one camera app King Camera got its first update yesterday. The 1.0.1 update improves performance and fixes a few bugs. This update also has a bug where your projects in the PhotoDesk may appear deleted after updating.
It’s similar to the issue PhotoForge2 had in its first update. According to the developer, your files are safe and an update has already been submitted to Apple that fixes this problem. In the meantime, you might want to hold off updating the app if you have projects in progress in PhotoDesk.
More on this and the update after the jump. >>>
Here’s the announcement from the developers of King Camera:
**** IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: (v1.01) ****
During update, photos in PhotoDesk may appear to be deleted. Please export your photos to camera roll before updating.
If it happened to you, rest assured, photos are not lost.
A fix will be submitted to Apple today. V1.0.2 will restore your “lost” photos.
We are very sorry for this inconvenience.
Here’s all that’s new in King camera 1.0.1:
– optimized photo shutter speed (200% faster: now “almost” immediate)
– optimized app size under 20MB (App can now be Downloaded over 3G network)
– optimized saving speed of video to Camera Roll in video mode
– fixed/removed geolocalization warning message when user opts out of geolocalization
– fixed “Zoom Bug” when going from Stills to Video Mode
– added 12fps option to TimeLapse/Stop-Motion
– removed “King Camera” word from the two frame designs it appeared on
– removed transparent KC logo from Faded Memories frame
King Camera 1.0.2 is already in the works. In addition to the new bug fix, this version will feature “MAJOR Speed Optimization coming in the Photodesk and Quickmatik (hint hint: think faster thumbs generation speed, amongst other things).”
King Camera is still $0.99 in the App Store. The normal price is listed as $2.99. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.2 or later.
