snapheal for mac

These are wondrous times in image manipulation. With the introduction of desktop and iOS apps that support content-aware fills and scaling, it’s possible to quickly and easily clean up images and remove objects entirely without cloning and brushing.

As part of Life In LoFi’s 3rd Birthday celebration, today we’re giving away a few copies of Snapheal for Mac — a value of $19.99. It’s currently the Number 1 app in the Mac App Store and it’s also on sale for a limited time for only $7.99. If you have a Mac, this is a very cool giveaway.

I’ve previously reviewed Snapheal here.

While we don’t usually write about non-iOS software, Snapheal is a Mac desktop app from MacPhun, the creators of FX Photo Studio, ColorStrokes and other great iOS apps. It’s a self-contained, content aware image fixer with several algorithms to help clean up and remove unwanted objects. It won’t work miracles on everything — no content-aware tool will. But SnapHeal does an amazing job cleaning up a lot of little glitches and “photo bombs” out of the box. It also has cloning and brushing tools to help clean up rough edges. Tools are easy to figure out and even with no previous Photoshop experience, it’s easy to get up to speed on the app in very little time.

It’s not a Photoshop replacement, but for $20 — less when it’s on sale — it’s a very reasonably priced tool for your desktop or laptop.

If you can’t wait to win a copy, SnapHeal is on sale for a very limited time for only $7.99. It’s normally $19.99 in the Mac App Store.

Snapheal is an Intel-only, Mac-only appRequirements: Mac OS X 10.6 or later.
