Photo fx is surely the most comprehensive photo app out there, with 76 filters that are unique and can really add a dramatic look to your photos. In addition, the app gives you more than 800 presets, and 62 different color or black and white film looks. You can add diffusion to photos with more than 50 included textures, and create natural lighting with 117 different patterns. The app also includes 27 grain presets, and you can paint various effects right on your image too.
There are the usual controls for crop, rotate and straighten, along with several pre-set aspect ratios. Photo fx also lets you paint a filter selectively using a mask, and each filter can be adjusted with a slider making the number of options almost infinite.
Happily, this app lets you edit in portrait or landscape mode, and it lets you save your photos at high resolution, up to 3300 pixels. Help is built in.

Using the app is a pleasure, It’s designed to let you explore, so you can try various things, and then back out and try another filter or combination of effects.
The app is normally only $0.99, so if you miss the freebie, I suggest you still pick it up. The app requires iOS 8 or later, and of course runs fine on iOS 9.
