Recently, there have been several high-profile instances of unauthorized photo/intellectual property … um, use. The most recent incident is making the rounds of The Facebook this week. DKNY “inadvertently” used 300 photos from New York Street Photographer Brandon Stanton aka Humans of New York without licensing or permission.

News: Pictorama Closes Down Suddenly

Mobile microstock market Pictorama has shut down “due to insufficient funds.” They are no longer accepting or licensing photos. Further, all remaining payouts have been canceled by the company. The servers have already been shut down and no more transactions are possible.

Impressions from 1197, New York

The 2013 1197 conference was held at New York’s Soho Gallery of Digital Art. It wrapped up Friday, February 22, with a number of panels on social media and mobile photography, as well as a closing night reception. I was there, along with dozens of other mobile photography notables, iPhoneographers, and Instagrammers from around the globe.
