The kick-off event of Pixels – The Art of the iPhone at Apple is tonight at the San Francisco Apple store at 6 p.m. This is the first iPhone photography event directly associated with Apple.

Curator Knox Bronson also coordinated the first brick-and-mortar iPhoneography exhibit, “Pixels at an Exhibition” in Berkeley, California in earlier this year.

Several artists will be present, including Maia Panos, Max Berkowitz, Christian Peacock and curator Knox Bronson. A number of new works as well as photography from prior exhibits will be featured, along with videos, slide-shows, and interviews of Pixels artists projected on the big screen in the theater.

Tonight’s event will also include works from Jon Betts, Jaime Ferreyros, Suzan Mikiel, Jose Chavarry, Dan Berman (reservoir_dan), Aik Beng Chia, Marco La Civita, Jason Feather, Marty Yawnick and many other iPhoneographers.

Other Pixels at Apple events are scheduled for Chicago on Thursday, October 21 and New York City on Friday, October 29. Los Angeles and London events are also planned.

If you are in the Bay area tonight, this is a must-see, iPhone photography event.
