Cameramatic has been updated to version 1.1 and as promised by the developer, it now supports full-res (sort of) on your iPhones.

Being a square-frame app, it’ll lose some pixels, but it now saves at 1930×1930 on an iPhone 4 and 1530×1530 on a 3GS. Be sure to check the settings. It didn’t automatically use high-resolution after I updated.

Also in this update are five new standard filters, as well as the ability to purchase additional filters in-app from the Cameramatic Store. Currently, two additional filter packs are available for $0.99 each and the store gives you previews of each effect. Nice!

You can now also import images from from your Photo Library. It’s pretty cool that it allows you to crop and zoom images before you import!

We recently reviewed Cameramatic. Click here to read our original review. It looks like some of the issues I mentioned have been addressed in this update.

The new description says that the app is now “on sale” for $1.99 for a limited time and will soon be going up to $4.99. Sounds like a tactic to me — $5 is pretty pricey for a photo app right now. That doesn’t mean the price still won’t go up.

Cameramatic creates great lo-fi effects and with full-res support is definitely worth $1.99. It looks like it’s gotten over version 1.0.
