Here is this week’s Faved On Flickr showcase. Over the past week, iPhoneographers from around the globe once again shared excellent portraits, abstracts, captures, landscapes, and found moments to Life In LoFi’s Flickr group. Submitted for your approval… this week’s showcase from the more than 1,000 images shared in the group this week.

Tamara Manning’s lead image “Apple” tells a powerful story in the one photograph. There are other great pieces this week including works from Jennifer Bracewell, Luxtra, Nicholas Corsalini, Hideous Manki, Aik Beng Chia, Unruly-E, Stefan Mahé, Carmen Cabrera, a powerful capture from ©arlein, and great works from others. This week, Star Rush and Greg Schmigel — two iPhoneographers who grace this page often — contributed two of my favorite images of theirs. My goal, as always, is a mix of familiar iPhoneographers and works from artists who you may not be familiar with yet.
I look at every image submitted to the group. Images that catch my eye are separated out to be further narrowed down for inclusion in the showcase. Is it a visually compelling photograph, whatever the topic? If it’s not an abstract, how well does the photograph tell the story of the moment? Does the production enhance the photograph?
Some of the photos just catch my eye for no explainable reason — I just like them. That is part of the mix of curating. But for the most part, the above are some of the criteria that I use when starting the selection process for images for the showcase.
Hopefully, these images inspire to create. They demonstrate what the iPhone is capable of as a camera and a processing tool.
Whenever possible, I’ve used the photographer’s real name in the caption, not the Flickr nick. This gives proper credit and recognition to the photographers and to better enable the viewer to get to know better each photographer and their work. Links go directly to the iPhoneographer’s Flickr photostream. If you like what you see, please click and check out their other work.
For your chance to be seen, all you have to do is be a member of the Flickr group, post, and keep adding great images. If you haven’t joined yet, here’s the link to Life In LoFi on Flickr. Then, check back here Sunday — we’ll have more.
Even if you haven’t shared your photography here, I hope you enjoy the images in this week’s showcase. Many thanks to all who post their works and let me share them.
