Of Mirrors by Nacho Cordova
On Saturday, iPhoneography lost one of its brightest stars.
Nacho Cordova was an artist with a gifted eye. He was a teacher. He was a husband and a father. In all my contact with Nacho both direct and indirect, he was polite, respectful of others and gracious. Nacho was a good guy. He touched many, many people in his life as evidenced by the pages and pages of tributes left on his Facebook wall. Nacho Cordova leaves a void and will be missed by many.
Over the weekend, many iPhoneographers began posting tribute photos in memory of Nacho. Life in LoFi and the iPhoneogenic blogs present many of those tribute images here in remembrance of our colleague and our friend.

“This piece was conceived after hours of contemplating the passing of our good friend, Nathaniel “Nacho” Cordova. Many members of the community, myself included, are still reeling from the shock of losing such a precious individual on July 16th.
“Nacho demonstrated more human goodness toward his peers than most anyone I’ve experienced. He possessed the zeal of an ardent student, while at the same time gladly and ably playing guide or teacher. He enhanced the level of discussion within the community. His warmth and respect for all he dealt with was infectious. And his passion was unquestionable. On a larger scale, Nacho was also comfortable in the role of outspoken advocate for iPhoneography, mobile photography and photography on the whole.
“I didn’t anticipate creating an image at this time, though I’ve long wanted to dedicate a piece to Nacho. It’s just that he so filled my thoughts after the tragic news came in, the only outlet I could find was to move my fingers and meditate while doing something I was sure Nacho would approve of — apping. In the end, I prepared secure new digs where Nacho could pursue his art freely, and where he and his friends can kick back and schmooze in style, as always.

What is Death?
Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
