#45 by throughtheiphonelens

Here is Life In LoFi’s regular Sunday showcase, Faved On Flickr for December 18. New and established iPhoneographers continue to share their great mobile photography in the Life In LoFi group on Flickr. All of the artwork is shot (or otherwise created) and processed on an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

There are a lot of cool images to check out this week, including some great portraits and outstanding landscapes. Click past the jump for this week’s gallery. >>>

One of the things I look for first is a great photograph. I look for how well the photograph tells a story, whether it’s happy, sad, or in some cases, kinda creepy. An excellent photograph elicits an emotional response, whether it’s sharing the joy, witnessing the pain, or feeling unsettled after looking at a work. This is true of any piece of art.

There are a lot of great photographs in this week’s showcase, which is a little light on highly apped abstracts.

“#45” by throughtheiphonelens starts off as a good photograph at first glance — nice soft light and excellent use of depth of field. I love the photographic prestidigitation that I found in the double-take of this photo.

There are some gorgeous landscapes this week, including Chris Harland’s stunning “Friar’s Crag, Keswick, Cumbria” with it’s great light and warm colors contrasted with Daniel Berman’s “Tamed” with it’s cold monochrome and great capture of the fog giving it a very wintery feel.

There are several great portraits this week, each with unique production that helps create a mood and capture the feel of image, ranging from a great abstract by Mansi to the capture of a quiet moment on a South African train by Brittany Held.

Other great photography this week comes from Greg Schmigel, iPhone0genic’s Edgar Cuevas, Jennifer Bracewell, Roger Guetta, Scott Williams and many others.

Links go back to the iPhonegrapher’s Flickr photostream. I encourage you to follow the links and discover new iPhoneographers whose work catches your eye.

Submissions are open to everyone with an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. All you have to do to submit your photography is to post your images to Life In LoFi on Flickr. On Sundays, we feature a brand new showcase.

I hope you enjoy today’s set. As always, many thanks to all of the iPhoneographers who post and share their photography every week.
