It’s not a photo app per se, but it’s a unique way to see where your photo was taken. MapScratch is a fun way to discover the location where an image was taken. Simply choose the image and start “scratching” the map by touching the screen and swiping.
We’ve got a few copies to give away today for the US Labor Day holiday. To find out how you can win one, click past the jump. >>>
MapScratch is from the developer of the excellent NoIMGData, which I’ve previously reviewed. It features a simple, easy to use interface, the ability to open the exact location in the Maps app, and the ability to see the time and date when the picture was taken. Note: for MapScratch to be able to view location information from images, you need to allow it to use Location Services.
MapScratch is a Universal app, meaning it’ll work great on an iPhone or iPad. It normally sells for $0.99. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.2 or later.
