PhotoToaster Has Matured Into a Powerful iPhone Photo Editor
PhotoToaster is a great, easy to use image editing app that lets you make nearly all of the image adjustments you’re likely to need.
The new 5.1.0 update was recently released. It’s got a few new features, including built-in CanvasPop integration, and we’ve got a few promo codes to give away today. Keep reading for more info on both. >>>
LoFi has been covering PhotoToaster since its original release. It’s been a few updates since our last PhotoToaster review. Since then, become an even more powerful, more versatile photo app. I was pleasantly surprised at the number and scope of the new features and how well they integrated into PhotoToaster’s ease-of-use workflow.
PhotoToaster is designed for fast and easy editing, including color and luminance tweaks, great noise reduction, sharpen, and even more advanced tools like midtone recovery. You can quickly apply global effects from a selection of presets. The presets can be used as is or further edited to your liking.
The tools work smoothly with no lag and they take a more subtle approach to image editing. As a result, some moves you make may not be immediately apparent, but this conservative approach to the editing tools enables you to make more precise color moves and edits with much less frustration.
The new update adds two new preset filters to its Deluxe set. There are eight new overlay borders.PhotoToaster now also lets you save Maximum Quality JPGs to your camera roll — minimum compression equals fewer JPG artifacts, although given all the other noise and “crap” inherent with the iPhone camera, you’ll be fine with PhotoToaster’s default, high-quality setting.
You can now also send an image to CanvasPop directly within the app. You can order up to 54″ x 38″ or 38″ x 38″ canvas prints in app with a few clicks. We’ve partnered with CanvasPop in the past and they have a solid reputation for outputting good quality color canvas prints.
It’s an excellent combination of a fast, one-click workflow and the advanced editing tools an iPhoneographer needs. It’s one of the reasons that PhotoToaster is a great image editor for iPhoneographers of any skill level. Even with all of its recent new tools and features, PhotoToaster is still very easy to use. It’s grown into a very nice, full-featured image editor with an excellent workflow.
It’s worth a look, or if you haven’t used the app in a while, it’s definitely worth revisiting. The speed and ease in which iPhoneographers can apply a broad range of everyday image adjustments and edits make this a good everyday editor and a worthy addition to your camera bag.
PhotoToaster is $1.99. It’s a Universal app for iPhone and iPad. Compatibility: Requires iOS 5.0 or later. Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
