ProCamera is a versatile and very powerful iPhone camera-replacement app. It has an extensive feature set, not only for shooting, but with its Studio and FX modules, you can tweak photos in-app and apply from a great selection of filters.
ProCamera normally sells for $2.99. To celebrate Spring, it’s on sale for only $0.99 — a savings of $2.00. This is a deep discount for ProCamera. This Easter sale is for a limited time only. This is a great time to grab it if it’s not already a part of your iPhone’s camera bag.
Old Photoshoppers may remember Kai Krause’s Power Tools, a set of Photoshop plugins that let you quickly and easily create slick (at the time) effects. One of those filters was the Kai’s Goo effect, which allowed you to push pixels around as if your photo were made of a heavy liquid. When used to excess, the results could be pretty twisted. When used sparingly, you could achieve some pretty creative and unnerving looks.
PhotoGoo is an iPhone photo app that let’s you create goo effects similar to the Kai plugin. It’s free right now in the App Store — down from $2.99. I reviewed an early version a while back. It’s still not perfect, but several updates since have greatly improved the app.
ACDSee Camera Flash is FREE today only for St. Patrick’s Day — a savings of $1.99. There’s still a few more hours left to get this special. More info and an App Store link after the jump. >>>
CameraBag is the classic iPhoneography app. One of the very first filter apps to appear in the App Store way back when (remember iPhone OS 2?), it was a staple in many an early iPhoneographer’s photo app camera bag.
To celebrate the launch of CameraBag 2 for Mac and PC, Nevercenter’s three iPhone photo apps CameraBag, Infinicam, and CameraBag for iPad are FREE for today only — a combined savings of almost $7.00. App Store links are after the jump. Grab these quickly! >>>
HDR Fusion is a straightforward two-exposure HDR app that’s fast and easy to use, but also has a lot of extra features that stay out of the way until you need them. It lets you create real HDR photographs by merging two differently exposed pictures taken in rapid succession (bracketing) and aligns them in-app. This way, highlights and shadows can be captured and thus fully detailed. HDR Fusion is FREE right now for today only. It normally goes for for $1.99.

iPhone photo app PhotoToaster is a very good, lightweight image editing app that makes fast and easy color and luminance tweaks as well as quickly applying effects from a selection of presets. PhotoToaster is on sale for only $0.99 — that’s $1.00 off the $1.99 price. This sale is for a very limited time only.
PhotoToaster is fast and easy and does most of the image tweaks you’re likely to use most. It’s also got some additonal powerful features under the hood. Also, this gets you in the app’s update path.
This sale is for a very limited time — possibly for the rest of the day only, so grab it now.

iPhone lomography app Lomora has a new update. Lomora 3 was just released and is a major overhaul of the app. New users may like the combinations of Lomora’s filter set and the many of the new options. Previous users may like them, too, but will have to shell out three bucks to find out. This is a paid upgrade.
It’s an ambitious update. Many of the new features are well done and great. Many others seem thrown together and poorly coded. And I’m puzzled by some of the app’s changes.
I love iPhoneography. I love coffee. This week, Starbucks combines my love of both for a really great freebie. Powerful image editor Snapseed is the FREE Starbucks Pick of the Week — a savings of almost five bucks!
Snap it. Tweak it. Love it. Share it. Snapseed is one of the most powerful photo editors available for iOS. It’s got a full set of editing tools as well as the very cool “selective adjustments: where you can drop a pin on the image and only the area around the pin adjusts — great for selectively tweaking dark areas of an image, for example. As a universal app, it’s designed to work great on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. It supports up to 6.25 MP on an iPhone 3GS and up to 16 MP images for iPad 2 and iPhone 4 and 4S.
To get Snapseed for free this week, you’ll need to get to a Starbucks store, pick up one of the Snapseed Pick of the Week cards, and redeem the code on the back to get the app for free. The cards are in Starbucks stores in the U.S. only this week while they last. No purchase necessary. Don’t forget to tip your baristas.
Snapseed is $4.99 in the App Store. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.2 or later.

Big thanks to Stacy Anderson for the heads up on this one and for the coffee, Grande Latte with an extra shot.
Camera Awesome
Version reviewed 1.0.1
Price: Free (bust out your wallet for all the in-app add-ons)
Bottom Line: This is a great all-in-one camera replacement. I have almost no issues with the app. It’s even worth paying for.
Before long, Camera Awesome, the new iPhone photo app from SmugMug, will top Instagram as the number one free photo app. It’s that good. It’s a full-featured camera replacement that for the most part lives up to the “awesome” moniker. The app has a lot of in-app add ons, but most users will be very happy with just the free version.
Decim8 is a bit destroyer. Basically, it makes your images look like a damaged JPG, adding data streaks, color anomalies and other digital damage that photographers and designers really hate to see in a working file. Here in Decim8, the damage is intentional. The results are unpredictable and sometimes stunning. The app is always interesting.
Long a favorite of mine, the App Store’s best “glitch app” Decim8 has just released a major update. Version 3.0 is out and has several new filters, a new interface, a new icon (which is actually the app’s original HAL 9000-looking icon) and a few caveats to go with this update.
