New Vintage Digital Vernacular Letters Call for entries: Send us your snapshots of awesome type. Deadline: Wednesday, January 25th, 2012
Thanks to smartphones’ decent cameras, loads of fun photo apps, and virtually unlimited storage space, it’s easier than ever to snap and collect interesting images. And you, with your deep fascination of the letters you encounter, undoubtedly have a growing collection of images of type.
The upcoming exhibition “New Vintage Digital Vernacular Letters” (Feb 1st – Mar 31st) will celebrate the endless diversity of type found from around the world as documented by you. We would like to invite you to take part and contribute some of your favorite photos of type and lettering you’ve captured.
Artspace Gallery Miami will be announcing an open call to artists for an upcoming show to be held January 2012 in our gallery featuring work done with an iPhone. All photographic work and post editing must be done with the phone. National and international submissions will be accepted. This iPhoneography Show will have more details posted later. If you’re in or near the capitol of South Africa on Thurday, September 1, here’s an event you should definitely check out.
On the 1st of September South Africa will host it’s first ever iPhoneography exhibition, at the iStore in Sandton, Johannesburg. Hosted by tech blogger Marc Forrest, in conjunction with Core, the official Apple distributors in South Africa, the event promises to be an exciting evening.
Capture the most amazing street styles and get the chance to have your photos showcased at the “Style Without Boundaries” exhibition taking place in London from the 23rd to the 25th September 2011. In cooperation with Northumbria University and as part of the London Design Festival 2011 our aim is to discover style and elegance where you would least expect to find it. Through the lenses of thousands of mobile photographers from around the world, reflecting all cultures and ages, we are exploring what true street style really is.
Here’s a new call for entries. This show is for a gallery in Tuscon, Arizona. There are submission fees, but prints will be made available for sale at the discretion of the photographer. Cool thing about this show is that it’s open to all camera phone platforms, not just iPhone.
There are just five days left to enter the Mobile Phone Juried Show at gallery nrc in Denver, Colorado.
Over the past few years the iPhone and other mobile devices have become another creative outlet for people on the go as the mobile phone is with you all of the time. gallery nrc embraces the new methods of image capture and is holding the Mobile Phone Show in October 2011, however the deadline for submissions in Wednesday August 10th. This juried show is open to mobile phone photographers of any level located anywhere in the world.

If you’re in or near Portland, Maine this Friday, August, August 5, be sure to check out First Friday Art Walk. Don’t miss Art House Picture Frames for the opening of “Mobile Natura”, a brick and mortar exhibition from iPhoneographer Kimberly Post Rowe, running there through August.
If you’re in or near Chicago this weekend, check out See, Hear, Now – an interactive installation of iPhone photography and music curated by Jennifer Hyman. It’s part of the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival and runs Friday, July 29 through Sunday, July 31. On display this weekend are works from several well-known iPhoneographers, including Jaime Ferreyros, Stacy Anderson, Amy Hughes, Matthew Schultz, Genevieve Cibor, Mark Andrushko, Leah Pietrusiak and Jennifer Hyman. Jennifer is also showing a few of my photos for this exhibit.
