Apple’s Camera app is great for two things. It’s handy. You can access it right from your lock screen. It’s also the only camera app that can use the new low light mode of the iPhone 5 camera.
Mashable and other outlets are reporting that there may be a problem with the camera of the new iPhone 5. When pointing the camera at the sun or other extremely bright light source, a purple “haze” appears in the image around the light source.
The new 645 PRO update has just been released. among the new features are two new “backs” and full support for the new, larger iPhone 5 and iPod touch 4″ screens.

Users are reporting that the 5 breaks the popular Hipstamatic app. On opening, the app now only has two resolution settings and High only saves at 1200×1200.

I’ve spent the past two days putting the iPhone 5’s camera through its paces, finding what works in the new camera, what doesn’t, and what is overhyped. There are a couple of issues with the camera that I’m surprised none of the other outlets have picked up on yet.
Yesterday, Apple released the latest version of its operating for iDevices, iOS 6. It’s a pretty big and spiffy update, with over 200 new features. I was actually more excited about the new iOS than I was about the new iPhone 5.

The Loop is reporting today that Apple has just announced a media event for September 12 in San Francisco. It’s been widely speculated (including here) that September 12 is the day that Apple announces the new iPhone 5.
