AutoStitch Panorama has long been the favorite pano app of this blog and many iPhoneographers. The 4.0 update has been released with new features and iOS 5 compatibility.
Some iPhoneographers are reporting problems with this update. Read on for more information and a couple of possible fixes. >>>
Single-take panorama app, 360 Panorama by Occipital, is free right now in the App Store. This is for a limited time only, so grab it now. It’s from the same developer who created the excellent ClearCam photo app.
The app creates immersive panos – up to 360 degrees – in a single take. Past versions have been a little cranky for me, but when it works, the panos are pretty seamless and very cool.
I’ll create a prettier link when I’m back in the office. Until then, here’s a text link you can follow to download. 360 Panorama is available as a free download for a limited time.
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
Ever heard of the Sprocket Rocket? It’s a sweet little panoramic 35mm camera from Lomography.com that features a super-wide panoramic lens and, of course, sprockets! It’s a LOMO effect that has previously been unavailable on iPhone… until now.
The ClassicPAN 5.1.0 update from misskiwi has just been released. It contains two new films and a new lens — the FrameRocket. The Sprocket Rocket-style effect is now available for iPhone.
Here’s a cool Kickstarter project that has reached its funding goal and begins production next month. It’s a nifty little device from New York company Kogeto called the Dot. It allows you to capture immersive, fully navigable, panoramic video in real-time – and share with friends on your phone, as well as on Facebook and Twitter.
There are several panorama apps available in the App Store. My favorite is AutoStitch Panorama by Cloudburst Research. It’s been on sale for a few days, but right now, it’s only 99¢ — that’s $2.00 off the normal price of $2.99.
You Gotta See This! is an easy, fun app that creates panography, a panoramic collage style of photography. Panography is different than panorama in that images are very visibly tiled to create a collage. Today, the 1.2 update was released, adding performance improvements, bug fixes and a few tweaks. Right now, the app is on sale for only $0.99 — that’s 50% off the normal price of $1.99.
I previously reviewed version 1.0 of the app and overall it’s pretty fun. It’s definitely an app with a lot of “Wow!” factor when you show your panographs off to your non-iPhone bearing friends.
There’s no indication as to how long this sale will last, so grab it now!
You Gotta See This! is compatible with iPhone 4 and iPod touch (4th generation). Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
Within the past several days, two new apps have been released that will be really cool when they work properly. As they are now, it looks like both releases should have been delayed so they could be tested further. Both Panorama 360 and Eraser Camera are alpha-level apps in their version 1.0 releases.
Bottom Line: An easy, fun app that replicates the panoramic collage style of photography. A few frustrating bugs in the initial release drop it down a star.
You Gotta See This is a new panography or panoramic collage from Boinx Software. Panography is different than panorama in that images are very visibly tiled to create a collage. David Hockney is an artist who uses this style of photography in his works. You Gotta See This! is an easy, fun app that replicates this style of photography.
Greetings from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where we are for a few more days on a working vacation. If your perceptions of Brew City are based solely on old reruns of “Laverne & Shirley” and “That 70′s Show”, you are missing out on a truly great (and photogenic) city.
It’s going to be a big week in iPhoneLand. The new iPhone OS, iOS 4, hits today. The iPhone 4 streets later this week. In lieu of a full-blown post this morning, here are a few random musings….
The latest version of AutoStitch Panorama for iPhone hit the App Store yesterday. Version 3.0 brings some cool new options that makes this it stand out in this class of pano apps. Read more after the click.
