Some more photos I’ve taken recently. It seems this entry you get a gallery of two of my recent trips to Wisconsin.

Shot with Camera Genius, unenhanced
It was a gorgeous summer night on Lake Michigan. We were waiting to board the boat on the right for a party cruise on the bay. I loved the soft light dockside and the way the two buildings on the other side of the river completed the scene. I love how the lights of the buildings stand out against the evening and how the different styles of architecture contrast each other, even at night.

One of two trains that operate at Bay Beach Amusement Park. We were probably walking where we shouldn’t have been and just happened upon this shot. I love the perspective and the lines of this head-on image and how the rails fade into black. You get little sense of scale looking at the image. And I love the splash of color — yellow and purple — in the locomotive.

Color tweaked in Photogene
Maybe it’s the 12-year old boy in me that found “Ho-Made” so amusing. Bea, what are you really selling in your store?
The afternoon sun made for some warm color and long shadows.

It was toward the end of a long day exploring Door County. We stopped by Clark Lake out of curiousity more than anything — kind of a “why not?” We pulled up to the put-in and there was one other group there with their dog.
“We can tie her up if she’s bothering you….”
“No problem. She’s okay,” we replied. I never caught her name. She never seemed to tire. And every time, she fetched the stick from the lake with gusto.
In this image, I love the clarity of the water and how the refractions play with rocks below. I love her determination as she swims away from shore and I love the shadows that the late afternoon sun cast across the lake.

Old, leaning, but not quite fallen. I stopped and turned around to photograph this old house. For me, the scene is full of life, contrasted by the old house which stubbornly refuses to fall.
This image was taken before I’d purchased many camera and post-production apps for my iPhone. I’d like to revisit this image, perhaps either pumping up the contrast, brightness and saturation, or by converting the image into an old monochrome or antique tone.
