FiLMiC Pro 2.0 is now live in the App Store. For more controls over capturing raw video, it doesn’t get much better than FiLMiC Pro.
The update comes with several great new pro features to improve the level of your iPhone videography. It’s a great update. If you you shoot video on your iPhone, FiLMiC Pro is a must have.

The update has all of the functionality of the great original version, plus it hands several new features. I like the new variable screen resolution modes, which allows you to also shoot video in old standard definition and even low-res definition for lower bandwidth web purposes. This feature alone greatly expands the usability of the app.
FiLMiC Pro now supports 26 different frame rates.
The app now has a new set of framing tools to help perfectly compose your video, including a great Super-35 matte mode with letterboxes over the top and bottom of the frame.
FiLMiC Pro now also has a new orientation switch for left or right-handed shooting. This is also very handy if you’re using the YOUBIQ Gymbl as a tripod mount.
All of the new features except for the handy audio level meter are tucked away in the settings pane to stay out of the way of the operation of the app.
This is a great update and raises the bar for other raw video apps. It’s correctly billed as “the Filmmaker’s App.”
