ClassicPAN’s FrameRocket effect

ClassicPAN
misskiwi’s ClassicPAN is the great single-shot panorama camera app. It saves both a filtered pano and your original image and supports high resolution output. It’s got a great set of authentic-looking retro film effects. It’s also the only panorama app with a Lomo SprocketRocket-like effect (a personal fave of mine!).
ClassicSAMP
ClassicSAMP mimics shooting with the classic Supersampler cameras — multi-lens toy cameras which uses standard 35mm film. This great faux-lomo photo app has the great misskiwi film options.
ClassicInstant film and Modern Border
ClassicINSTA
ClassicINSTA is one of the earliest and one of the premier fauxlaroid apps in the App Store. It has many of the the great misskiwi film effects — among my favorite film recreations. ClassicINSTA also has SendToApp support, which lets you bypass saving to the camera roll when working with other apps that support this API. You can also send your photos straight to Instagram from within the app.
ClassicTOY
Although ClassicTOY is a “freemium” download, it’s even on sale right now as well. The in-app purchase to unlock the Lens Pak upgrade is on sale now for only $0.99. ClassicTOY is a great toy camera app with great films and several different lens effects. You can also import images from your camera roll using the app’s Film Copier function to apply film and light leak effects. The unlocked version has a number of different lenses including several sampler lenses, a Fisheye effect, and a double exposure lens effect.
The Film Copier rotates wide images 90°. This can be easily fixed in an image editor, but be aware of this bug before you download the app.
UPDATE 01: According to reader Fin, it looks like the ClassicTOY Lens Pak upgrade is still shows up as $1.99 in the App Store. I have no way of testing to see if you’re only charged $0.99 in the app itself. I’ve sent a note to the developer to see how this works. My apologies for any confusion.

Booster!
Booster! is a versatile new live preview image editing app. I recently reviewed the app. Booster! comes with eight filter presets — some of them with variations. You can also perform basic edits in the viewfinder. You can add a nice, smooth vignette and adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation and color temperature — all live in the viewfinder before you snap the photo.
B&W Lab
B&W Lab is a very easy to use black and white app. It has both presets and tools so that both beginners and more advanced users can easily create great looking black & white photos. In addition to the 20 presets (whcih include several films from other excellent misskiwi apps), there is also an editor which gives you more precise custom control over your conversions. Among the tools are color filter conversions, film grain simulations (a feature which many of the black and white conversion apps lack), tone curves and more.
Squara
Squara is another very good square format app that integrates nicely with Instagram, but also makes a great shooter on its own. I’ve talked about here before.
Squara is a multi-lens, SuperSampler-style square format app with 19 special effects, 6 adjustment effects, 12 borders and 11 light-leaks for a total of over 10,000 combination. The effects range from classic toy cameras to other analog effects to a really cool oversaturated printed halftone effect. I think it’s a slightly broader range of effects than are found in the rest of the Classic series.
All three apps are compatible with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation) and iPad Wi-Fi + 4G. All three require iOS 5.0 or later.
misskiwi photo apps don’t go on sale often. This is a good chance to grab these great apps now. Prices will go back up soon.
