A “prerelease” of RetroPak Three was inadvertently made available to a small number of users for a short time today. Skip past the jump for more info and an update on the release of this RetroPak. =M=
SXSW in Austin, Texas always means something good from the Haus of Hipstamatic. For 2013, they’ve just released the new RetroPak Three for Hipstamatic, featuring four classic lenses and eight films, including the long-awaited re-release of the Nike NSW Always On FreePak. >>>
UPDATE 01: Many users reported that they were unable to see or download RetroPak Three today. I spoke with Molli Sullivan from Hipstamatic who told me that this “was definitely just a hiccup server-side with Apple and we’re looking into it.” Something is definitely coming from Hipstamatic for everyone. Hopefully, you were one of the lucky ones who were able to grab this re-release early. =M=
Originally released in July of 2011, the last time the NSW FreePak was re-released was in late December, 2011. Despite the release of the two previous RetroPaks, this pak has not been included until now.
It features the AO/BW and AO/DLX films, two excellent black & white films with rich saturation, subtle “grain” and high contrast. The pak also included the Hornbecker lens. The pak was originally created in collaboration with Nike Photographer, Chris Hornbecker. It’s the most anticipated release of any Hipstamatic pak to date.
Here’s everything that’s in the new RetroPak Three, including four classic lenses and eight films from the NSW Always On FreePak, W Mag FreePak, Gangster Squad FreePak, Made In America FreePak, and the Rock The Vote FreePak.

The RetroPaks are only available for a limited time. Here’s your chance to complete your Hipstamatic lens and film collection. Unfortunately, none of the great Hipstamatic cases are included in this re-release.
The Nike NSW Always On FreePak re-rerelease alone makes this one worth the purchase. Grab this quickly.
RetroPak Three was available today as a $1.99 in-app purchase. Check your in-app Hipstamart as the pak propagates down through the internet. If this pak returns, it’s worth two bucks for the great Nike pak alone.
If you don’t already have Hipstamatic, the basic app is $1.99 in the App Store. Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iPad (3rd generation), iPad Wi-Fi + 4G, iPad (4th generation), iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular (4th generation), iPad mini and iPad mini Wi-Fi + Cellular. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
