Here’s the second in a new series of weekly videos that focuses on how to take better pictures with your iPhone or other mobile device. In collaboration with Digi Malaysia, @igersmalaysia has launched The Mobile Snaps series.
Check out the first Mobile Snaps episode, “Shooting With Perspective“.
This episode focuses on hyperlapse photography. A hyperlapse video is a rapid, time-lapse video that plays back at hyper speed. Technically, the videos are shot at a slower frame rate and played back at normal speed, causing the apparent fast speed of the video.
You’ll need the Hyperlapse from Instagram photo app (Free) to create the effects shown in this video. Currently, Instagram doesn’t offer an Android version, but there are alternatives.
This new Mobile Snaps video not only gives an overview of the Hyperlapse app including a few hidden tricks, but it also sparked my creativity by demonstrating some really cool examples of hyperlapse video in everyday situations. I can’t wait to try this out on an escalator.
If you’re new-ish to iPhoneography or mobile photography, this is a good video series to help learn a foundation of basics quickly. This video is brief, informative, slickly produced and takes you through step-by-step. It may give you ideas to spark your creativity as well. It’s produced in part by Instagramers Malaysia, who are active in the global Instagramers’ community.
