Hey, Dallas/Fort Worth! iSHOW, an exhibit of iPhoneography, opens this Friday, September 24, 2010 with a photographer’s reception from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. The exhibition is at PDNB Gallery on Dragon Street in Dallas (address below). Organized and curated by Burt Finger and Ryan Hartsell, the show runs through October 9th. Life In LoFi will be there to cover the opening.
The complete press release from PDNB is below. See you there this Friday.
The iSHOW is an exhibition celebrating the iPhone as a legitimate tool in creative instant photography. Like the Polaroid, the iPhone has become a creative outlet for photographers around the world to capture those rare moments with immediacy. The iPhone takes it a step further, considering it is on the person nearly most of the time when a Polaroid camera wasn’t necessarily there. Capturing a great image isn’t confined to the camera that’s used, but rather how the photographer uses that camera. Having a viable camera in moments that otherwise wouldn’t be captured is opening the doors to new creativity.
From Pulitzer Prize Winner David Leeson to Dolly Python’s Prominent Antique Dealer Brian Green, this exhibition showcases some of the best known regional photographers as well as some of the most interesting personalities DFW has to offer.
