Slow Shutter Cam for iPHoneSlow Shutter Cam by Cogitap Software is an app that simulates control over exposure and shutter speed. The long exposures and slow shutter effect can be used to compensate for low-light situations. It doesn’t actually change the shutter speed of the iPhone’s camera, which is fixed. Through software magic, it mimics the camera effects available with a variable shutter.

It was recently updated and the 1.3 update is a very nice improvement over the earlier releases, with a huge bump in image resolution and picture quality. You can read about the great 1.3 update by clicking here and you can read our original review of the app by clicking here.

I’ve got free promo codes to give away to eight random readers who request one in the comments below. To win, request a code in the comments below. You can comment as many times as you like, but only your first comment will count. Cut-off time to enter is 6:00 PM Central Time tomorrow, Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Winners will be determined by random selection.

This is for the full version of Slow Shutter Cam, not a feature limited Lite version. These codes work with a U.S. App Store account only and will not work in any other country. One code per reader, please. If you’re one of the winners, be sure I can email or DM you somehow.

Slow Shutter Cam works on any iPhone or iPod Touch 4th Gen running iOS 4.0 or newer. Sorry, iPad owners, but your device doesn’t have a camera yet. Although you don’t need one, having a tripod mount or Joby Gorillapod really helps. If you don’t get a promo code here, Slow Shutter Cam is only $1.99 in the App Store.

Big thanks to Cogitap Software and Robert Latour for providing us with the free promo codes.
